G7 agree to target tax avoidance. Brilliant. This is the only way to tax the rich...Chase them around the globe, blocking each and every stone they try to hide their purloined gold under.
Until the whole world agrees to target this issue, there can never be the socialist utopia of shared wealth and a safety net for all. Essentially, whenever my more liberal friends attempt to paint me as some kind of evil demonic figure because I don't nod and agree with them and say "Ummm, yeah yeah yeah!" to each and every point about throwing money at the economy and giving the poor £60kpa to sit on their asses etc...Every time they do this, I always ask "Who will pay for it? Your glorious plans?"
Their stock answer being the rich, and big corporations. Well yes, I agree they should pay their dues, but they are already charged a higher rate of tax...They merely hide lots of their wealth in order to pay nothing or less tax than they otherwise would. Meaning, they can't fund this utopia...until the world closes loopholes. Why? Because if we close the loopholes here and force big business to pay, they will piss off elsewhere in order to save money, taking their wealth with them and abandoning us as a trading nation, hence we cannot go it alone...Much as my liberal friends want to. To do so will flush the whole system down the toilet, and then we couldn't afford a sausage let alone healthcare.

Margaret Thatcher.
She was a polarising figure, that much is evident!
Thing is, polarising figure means that they're loved and hated in equal measure...Surely this is a good thing? It means there is a natural divide to vote for, not like today where identikit men in suits battle over the same turf because they want everybody to love them equally.
Walking the centre ground is asinine and boring simply because by walking the centre ground, you offend both sides of the political divide equally, and hence doom your country to endless coalition and ineffective governance.
Remember this, for all people seemed to hate Thatcher, she won three elections. Cue various theories as to why this is, usually citing the Falklands and Kinnocks meltdown speech. Nobody states "She won because of the superior number of votes her party received." I also think, people remembered this.

Ratings cut humiliating, says Labour
Well they would wouldn't they? The bunch of bellends.
Inheriting a stable economy, gaining an unfounded reputation as an Iron Chancellor, and then turning on the borrowed money taps in about 1999. Spending more than we earned until the wheels fell off the wagon in 2008, and then thinking that spending yet more money would be a great idea to save everything. "Hey, let's throw good money after bad, that'll work!" Cue total loss of face, but since the Tory party have always been the party that tries to live within our means, everybody hates them to a greater or lesser extent. We want the fun party back, the party that pisses money at every needy mouth in order to buy votes. Yey.
So this was going to be a rant about ratings agencies, and what a bunch of pricks they are...Playing a self fulfilling game must be so easy, just ask George Soros. Does what he wants, and since every swinging dick stock broker watches him and follows him, he can set the trends every-time. Gee, wonder how he does it? You fucking idiots. One day, ignore him and take him to the cleaners. Anyway, ratings agencies. Vote me, and I'd send black clad special forces guys to abduct all the MDs and senior decision makers, and just bury them in a ditch somewhere after hours of spectacularly excruciating torture. Screw my country over would you? Force the honest taxpayers to pick up the bill? Suffer.

Biased Broadcasting Corporation: Part 2
On a day when the government was able to bring the amount of public borrowing down by £2bn pounds in contrast to last year. All this in order to rescue the public finances from the utter chodes who pissed our cash to the wall with gay abandon...What do you think the BBCs headline is?
Government Debt at record of £1tn.
Great way to spook the sheeple BBC. Great way to flog your anti-Tory agenda. Yes debt is rising, but it is rising at a slowly reducing rate, and hopefully the budget will balance soon enough, allowing the country to pay down some debt and look to the future. I know that the devil is in the detail, but you're well aware that a high percentage of readers only ever read the headline, and your headline will make people think that all the pain and hurt we are suffering (I have felt it too) has been for nothing. But you always did like Labour in charge, even if they are idiots IMHO.

Scaremongering
Get this latest from the beeb election ticker:-
1048: "There's a substantial risk to the peace process" if the Conservatives win the election, says Northern Ireland Secretary Shaun Woodward. He tells Sky News that Tory cuts to public spending would damage community policing. He says Labour has made great achievements by helping bring political stability to Northern Ireland and David Cameron could jeopardise that.
What a cock. What an utter cock to use the troubles as a 'vote me.' Now, I expect cut and thrust and mistrust etc during this last week, it is an election campaign after all...But this, to use the threat of returning to terrorism, as an reason to vote Labour! Jesus H. Christ they've turned into George W.

The Final Leadership Debate:
Again, no Budd Dwyer moment.
But you're right, Gordon was in the thick of it, and throwing out some seriously stress induced shapes...Shouldn't call core voters bigots, and then attempt to gloss over it really.
Clegg played the same record as before, *haughty look at camera and pause for effect* and the groove is starting to wear out...Gone was his crystal sharp dynamic range, being replaced with a kind of irritating fuzz (these record comparisons doing anything for you? No)
Cameron, was on fire...The pundits and polls agreed.
In the same manner as Clegg a fortnight ago, he engaged the audience and made Gordon look like a toby jug full of warm piss.
I note, some unkindness about his performance from the usual sources (comments on BBC news tickers from voters etc)...You see no answers in his statements, he is all soundbite...Well, Clegg's been doing that for 2 weeks now and seemingly had the punters in the palm of his hand. This exposes the ultimate goal of the TV debate...To weed out the un-photogenic, to remove real substance and replace it with who can say the most ingratiating statements while keeping a stern Hollywood leadership face.
UK politics has simply become more about who has the most media savvy leader, and that seemed to start with Mr. Blair.
